Search the footage archive by animal, behaviour, place or reference code, or browse by subject. Save the records that interest you to your shortlist as you go.

Not everything is online. If you cannot find what you are looking for, send a research request and the library team will search the offline archive and partner collections for you. We enjoy a challenge.

The website shows still previews from the catalogue. Viewing clips (screeners) are supplied on request, either online or through a download link from our delivery portal.

Reference codes are burned into every screener so that clips can be identified precisely when you order.

Licensing rates depend on the usage rights requested and vary with the type of project, the territory and the term required. Because we represent a range of collections, different minimums and rates apply.

Tell us about the production and we will quote. Preferred-vendor arrangements, bulk orders and non-profit conservation or educational projects are considered individually.

We deliver across the spectrum from standard definition through full high definition to ultra-high-definition 4K and above, with high-speed online delivery.

Most orders are fulfilled within a few working days; some collections need a little longer. We confirm the delivery time when we quote. A signed licence agreement and proof of payment are required before master material is released.

Once you have selected the material you would like to license, send us your order with the following production information:

• Nature and name of the production
• Channel or platform
• Territory, rights and licence period required
• Name and contact details of the production house
• The reference code (burned into the screener) and timecode in and out of each clip

We clear the rights for the footage ordered and send a quote and licence agreement. On receipt of proof of payment and the signed agreement, master material is released through a download link that stays active for a week.

We are always looking for new footage to represent, especially ultra-high-definition material. Read the representation guide, then send us an overview of your collection, the formats you shoot in, whether your footage is logged and whether it is represented elsewhere.

We use the details you send only to answer your enquiry and manage any licence that follows. We never knowingly pass personal details to third parties for marketing, and we work in line with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). See the privacy notice.
