Our story
Aquavision’s story began in 1992, with natural-history filmmaking for the international broadcast market. Together with our sister company Lion Mountain Media, we have produced documentaries, long-running series and feature films, and are known for filming extraordinary animal behaviour both underwater and in the untamed African bush.
“To find the behaviour, place or passing moment that makes a story memorable.”
Our camera crews have filmed in nearly all of the national parks, wildlife reserves and private game parks in southern and central Africa, developing working relationships that give privileged access to areas ordinarily closed to film crews — capturing the diversity of wildlife, landscapes and cultures the continent has to offer.
The archive
The archive represents footage produced by Aquavision and Lion Mountain Media, together with material from other leading filmmakers and libraries. This site presents 9 864 catalogue records with their original descriptions and reference codes, and still previews for 9 276 of them. Not every clip is online: the library team can search the offline archive and tap into partner collections for you.
The people
Aquavision draws on a strong local and international infrastructure and an experienced pool of freelance camera operators, editors, writers, directors and producers. Production services are delivered with Lion Mountain Media.
